I am a private coach and psychotherapist who focuses on helping people find solutions. I can help you discover what is blocking you, see old patterns, and get unstuck.
I was born in San Francisco and raised in the bay area and from a young age I was drawn to two distinct passions- artistic expression and a love for horses.
After graduating high school, I went off to college at Parson's School of Design in New York City. Half way through my degree in fine arts, I decided to take a year off to travel extensively around the world, supporting myself by buying and selling textiles and clothing. Upon returning from my travels, I completed my Bachelor of Fine Arts from California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland, CA. and majored in jewelry and metal arts.
I began a career in making jewelry but I wanted to give back more to the world I lived in and I was unfulfilled. My whole life people had told me that I should be a counselor, that I was a good listener, that I offered good advice, and most importantly, that I was trustworthy which is why people wanted to tell me things that were difficult to talk about. So when I found the Art Therapy/MFT program at NDNU in Belmont, I knew that this was my path. Art had always been a healing experience for me and it just made sense to offer this to others.
When I stumbled across Equine Assisted Psychotherapy I never looked back. As long as I have followed the call to provide healing through working with horses and art, doors have opened and people have walked in. I am currently the director of an equine therapy program at a residential eating disorder program in Moss Beach, CA and am the mental health practitioner working with the National Center for Equine Facilitated Therapy in Woodside, CA. I incorporate art and working with horses into my private practice but sometimes just traditional talk therapy is what fits my clients needs.
The most recent chapter of my desire to help others, I have expanded into life coaching. I have completed various certification courses and trainings as well as embarked on my own personally journey with a life coaches and love this style of helping people. There are many clients I work with who have had therapy and no longer want to dig up the past, they are asking to move forward with specific goals in mind. I have come to understand how 15 years of providing psychotherapy, listening for behavior patterns, listening to belief systems and attuning to energetic blockages has trained me to be an expert life coach.
Only through our own personal growth and introspection can we be in a place to help others do the same.
